Bellevue Botanical Gardens / Wilburton Hill Park - July 29, 2023

This lovely afternoon we spent our day at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens, which is completely free to visit! And strolled along a few of the Wilburton Hill Park Trails. We started our afternoon with a picnic lunch at a few shady patio tables just outside the Copper Kettle Cafe. It was a wonderful spot to enjoy the fresh air, garden plants, birds, and bees.

After finishing our sack lunch we strolled along the gardens and saw so many beautiful blooms. The purple and orange flowers stuck out to me the most. I was so engaged with the garden, I forgot to take any photos. You should go and see with your own eyes how beautiful it is. There were two favorites that stuck out in my memory, so I posted a couple of stock images of them below to give you a taste. After that, we strolled the trails and crossed the ravine bridge which extends over the Wilburton Tributary creek then made our way around and back to the parking lot.

This is the Gladiolus 'Purple Prince'. It was in spectacular bloom today.

Common name is Red Hot Poker. This variety is known as Bees Sunset. I saw a rufous hummingbird eating from the flowers as we passed.
